How our systems work

The basic building block of modern-day computers is the electronic logic gate. Logic gates exist in every electrical circuit, performing binary operations with switching mechanisms, which yield either “0” (low) or “1” (high). There are seven basic logic gates: AND, OR, XOR, NOT, NAND, NOR, and XNOR. A combination of these basic logic gates yields the building blocks of modern day computers.

Optii Corp’s technology comprises configurations of high-energy lasers and optical fibers to create all-optical NAND, NOT, AND and OR logic gates by using interacting continuous or pulsed light intensities. The underlying scientific principle is stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in an optical fiber. Through the optimization of the improved power-to-weight ratio of the infrared laser light, a number of different optical gates have been created.

Multiple gate connections yield a light-based “all-optical circuit” to perform calculations.

cutting-edge solutions towards building a photonic future

Optii Corp’s technology is the first of its kind and represents cutting-edge research initiatives which will define a new market space.

Namely, current electronic computers are prone to electromagnetic interference from which their exterior and construction provide minimal protection. While it is possible to shield current computers with materials to block the electromagnetic interference, these are often bulky, heavy, do not provide ideal protection, and yield a low power-to-weight ratio. Computing in environments exposed to electromagnetic radiation and electromagnetic pulses (EMPs) remains a challenge in various settings.

For military applications, Optii Corp’s all-optical technology is designed to be inherently immune to electronic warfare, and suitable for rugged military environments where vibrations and other external influences are significant. Our products can fundamentally change the way non-cooperative objects are defeated by non-kinetic means through secure computation and transmission. The technology uses complex high energy laser technologies that offer a significant improvement over existing systems.

Optii Corp develops all-optical computing technologies, powered by high energy lasers, which are inherently robust and immune to electromagnetic (EM) interference. This technology is projected to carry out uninterrupted computational functions during electromagnetic interference and maintain excellent electrical efficiency.
